Meet the team who are here to help.
Families are at the heart of our charity, and what makes Ditch Debt with Dignity special, is our very own people.
Our team of employees and volunteers are all dedicated to providing the best possible debt advice and act in a caring, encouraging, and non-judgemental manner.
My passion is to help people to live the best life they can lead by using my experience and skills to help them put in place the right financial plan for them.
I’ve worked in Financial Services for over 30 years and have been a Chartered and Certified Financial Planner for over 10. I have volunteered with Ditch Debt with Dignity since the beginning; I love my job, I work with lovely people, and have lovely clients that I feel privileged to be able to advise and support.
I do what I do because I get joy and a buzz out of being able to reduce my clients’ worries and fears about their money, and open up possibilities they may not have thought achievable. We all deserve to live our best lives on our own terms and putting in place a proper financial plan gives you a chance to do that.
Outside volunteering with Ditch Debt and working as a Pension Specialist, I enjoy Munro bagging, walking, reading, going to the cinema, and watching live events. Spending time with my family, friends, and dogs is also very important to me.
Graduating from Aberdeen University in 2001 with a Psychology degree, I begun working in social care for a large charity. Later, then in a management role with a social enterprise, to provide training on programs designed to support adults with disabilities in workplace tasks.
My leadership skills and experience have transferred seamlessly into working with Ditch Debt with Dignity. I started in January 2021 and thoroughly enjoy my role in operations and all the opportunities that it brings; not to mention the extent of help and support that the team can give to the community.
Out with the organisation, I love the outdoors, particularly walking, the occasional G&T, and trying out different restaurants.
I joined the team at Ditch Debt with Dignity as adviser support in July 2021. Working closely with the client adviser, I use my many years’ experience in financial services and counselling to offer invaluable support and guidance to our clients.
I support the team by dealing with all the client administration, resulting in the smooth running of the organisation. I have built a valuable array of knowledge and experience over my career so far, which is a great asset to Ditch Debt with Dignity.
Out with the organisation I have recently taken up beach art and I am loving it! I also enjoy the occasional glass of fizz and trying out new restaurants throughout the city and beyond!
